Ask your AVMA accredited veterinary school to submit your transcript or diploma directly to the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine by emailing vet.med@state.mn.us.
NAVLE: Vets applying for a license in Minnesota will need to pass the NAVLE examination and have their results submitted directly to the Minnesota Board.
Jurisprudence Exam: Applicants in Minnesota will also need to complete a Veterinary Jurisprudence Exam covering Minnesota's veterinary practice act.
After you apply online, you'll receive a email with instructions for submitting your fingerprints at a CBCP office. We reccomend submitting your fingerprints as soon as possible as this can be the longest part of the application process.
Veterinarians who are already licensed in another state, US territory, Canadian province, or Washington D.C. must submit a verification of licensure for any licenses currently or previously held, including any disciplinary action taken against any of your licenses by a state veterinary board.
AAVSB Vault Service: You can have the AAVSB transfer your NAVLE test results, verification of licensure for any other veterinary licenses, and letters of good standing for a fee of $99.
On average, the criminal background check takes about 37 days but can take as long as 2 to 4 months and may delay the application process.
