Your Guide to Independent Contractor Taxes

As an independent contractor, you’re in business for yourself, but with Roo, you're never alone. Here’s everything you need to take on taxes with style (and savings).

How do taxes work with Roo?

With Roo, 100% of your relief income goes straight to you with no taxes withheld. However, you'll still have to pay taxes later.

Don’t worry, we do a lot to make this easy and help you keep your paws on as much of your hard-earned income as possible.

If you’ve earned more than $600 with Roo this year, we’ll send you a 1099-NEC form with all your relief income in late January.

To help with tax planning, Roo tracks your income in your History & Earnings page with quarterly views in case you need to file quarterly taxes.

We always recommend talking to a tax professional to get the best info specific to you.

Roo partnered with Fit Money CPA to bring you tax tips specifically tailored to Relief Vets and Techs. Keep an eye out for our upcoming webinar with Michelle Musacchio, CPA, MT, and cat lover to get the most up to date tax tips and tricks!

The advice provided here is for informational purposes only, and you should always check with your tax professional for up-to-date information that applies specifically to you.
