How long is a Idaho Veterinary License valid for?

Idaho veterinary licenses are valid for 2 years starting with the 2025- 2026 renewal cycle.

Continuing Education Requirements
30 Hours of CE are required every 2 year renewal period.

Due to the current transition to a biennial renewal cycle, the Board has determined: “Licensees will not be required to report CE until the next renewal cycle (June 2026). All CE credits accumulated during the current renewal period may be added to CE hours completed during next year’s renewal cycle. In the 2026 renewal cycle, licensees will be required to report 15 total hours of CE, in which you can use the accumulated CE from the 2024-25 and 2025-26 renewal cycles.” (Source)

Continuing Education Verification & Documentation

Idaho does not verify your CE annually, but it is recommended you keep a record of your CE for 4 years as the Idaho Board of Veterinary Medicine may randomly audit you. You are only required to submit certificates of completion if you are randomly audited or if you renew your license after the expiration date.
