Charlotte “Char” Weir is a true powerhouse of industry impact and the national winner of the 2026 AVMA Unsung Hero Award. The former Veterinary Technician turned Practice Manager has decades of experience leading more than 52 clinics as Manager of Operations & Integrations at Petwell Partners and now serves as Roo’s VP of Partnerships while managing a standout hospital of her own: 2525 Sunset Vets in Houston, Texas.

As Roo’s first employee, she was a guiding voice, helping shape Roo’s empathy-driven mission to “liberate and empower veterinary professionals.”

Char passionately shares her practice management philosophy, helping veterinary businesses grow in a ways that are smart and sustainable with a growing number of free webinars available on Roo. Her commitment to people, pets, and the vet med industry is unmatched. Char co-founded the Houston Chapter of Not One More Vet and currently sits on their board. During Hurricane Harvey, she organized multiple free pop-up clinics and helped coordinate access to critical supplies so Houston pets could continue to receive care following the disaster.

What’s most impressive about Char is that she always makes time to support her team both at Roo and in her clinic. And if the situation calls for it, she’s always willing to scrub up and step in when her team needs an extra set of hands.
