All Roo Locum RVTs must have at least five years of veterinary experience and hold an active licence in good standing in any province in which they intend to work locum shifts.
No! As a Roo Locum RVT, you’ll have complete control over your schedule. Work when you want, where you want, however often you want, period.
Roo Locum RVTs are independent contractors, and taxes are not taken out of your income, so you’ll get paid exactly what you see on the shift listing. However, you’ll still be responsible for paying taxes on this income later, so we recommend setting some of your Roo earnings aside for tax payments.
No. Hospitals have no visibility into your profile, contact info, or search activity until you request a shift. Your activity is anonymous from all Roo hospitals until you reach out to them.
Yes! You can sign up for Roo to pick up locum shifts to supplement your income or get access to free, RACE-approved CE. Locum work is also a great way to try new hospitals and learn from others.
Roo is free to join with no membership fees and no penalties for inactivity so you have nothing to lose!
