Melissa Freis, CVPM, CCFP

Senior Manager, Career Pathways

Melissa is a passionate and driven professional, committed to helping veterinary teams grow, lead, and succeed. She earned her CVPM in 2017 and became a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional in 2020. Since joining Roo in 2021, she has progressed from Business Development to leading the Account Management team, and in 2025, began building Roo’s Relief-to-Hire experience to support hospitals, Vets, and Techs in a more collaborative hiring journey. Melissa finds her greatest fulfillment in empowering veterinary professionals and fostering their ongoing development.

Dr. Robin Paddock, DVM

DVM, Lead Veterinary Ambassador at Roo

A graduate of LSU, Dr. Robin Paddock brings 35 years of experience in private, corporate, relief, and leadership roles within the veterinary field. Over the past four years, she has focused on building and working with Roo’s Ambassador program. In this role, Dr. Paddock enjoys supporting hospitals and fellow Veterinarians as an ambassador, as well as providing care by filling shifts.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Paddock enjoys traveling, camping, photography, cooking, and sewing. She also dedicates time to volunteering with memory care patients and contributing to charity sewing projects. At home, she cares for five cats, two of whom are permanent fosters, and an 8-year-old terrier-mix rescue named Eddy.

Passionate about the dynamic nature of veterinary medicine, Dr. Paddock finds fulfillment in solving complex medical cases, with a particular interest in feline medicine. She also values guiding clients in providing optimal care for their pets through comprehensive education.
