Have any patients with open skin wounds that are not healing? We will cover etiologies of skin trauma (e.g. bite wounds), practical topical medications, and current bandaging techniques that create the best environment for healing. Case studies will be used to illustrate important points in this super CE you won't want to miss.

Stephen J. Birchard DVM, MS, DACVS

Dr. Stephen Birchard is a board-certified specialist in veterinary surgery and former professor of veterinary medicine at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has written numerous papers for the veterinary journals and is the chief editor or co-editor of several veterinary textbooks, including The Saunders Manual of Small Animal Practice. Dr. Birchard does online continuing education through his blog (Veterinary Key Points) and his educational Facebook page (Dr. Stephen Birchard, Veterinary Continuing Education). He lives in Indianapolis with his wife, son, and a menagerie of rescued pets including Calvin, a talkative Labrador mix, Sofie, a food motivated beagle, and Creamsicle the cat who excels in annoying his canine roommates.
